Jonay Bacallado, illustrator born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain), finishes his studies of Fine Arts in Barcelona.
Starts his career for various spanish and american publishers as a children’s book illustrator. His interests in animation and concept art led him to study a Master in those fields.
His works as a concept artist for the film industry began with Mel Gibson’s APOCALYPTO, followed by James Cameron’s AVATAR, Dragon Ball Evolution, HBO’s ROME, John Carter of Mars (Walt Disney/Pixar).
His collaboration with Costume designer Mayes Rubeo continues in WARCRAFT and THE GREAT WALL, both for Legendary Pictures.
His clients include also DisneyToon Studios. He currently resides in Barcelona.
His most recent work as Costume Illustrator is for THOR RAGNAROK at Marvel Studios.
